Impact on Transport from Housing Development in Oadby and Wigston
Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment 2014. The plans to 2024 allocate space for 740 houses (76 in Oadby and the rest in Wigston) up to 2019 and additional 9 houses up to 2024 and a further 1620 houses (320 in Oadby) beyond that.
Impact of Urban Trees on Reducing Pollution
Planting Healthy Air Report. The key conclusions seem to be that trees reduce pm2.5 concentrations (the smaller and more toxic particles) by around 15% in a downwind direction but that the effect is quite local, up to 30 metres. That would suggest that we need to screen our more heavily used roads with trees at a density of better than one tree per 30 metres.
