There will be an open meeting on the City Council’s Flood Risk Management Plan on Monday 18th February at 7.30 pm in Knighton Parish Centre.

Philip Thompson, Flood Risk Manager for Leicester City Council, will be the guest speaker.  He will be speaking on the Leicester flood risk management plan and the work the City Council is doing to encourage the use of sustainable drainage to reduce flood risk and improve water quality as well as improve the environment.  He will also cover the City Council’s work with partners the Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water PLC in addressing flood risk in the city.

This is timely in relation to the proposal by Aldi to build on land that was considered for additional water retention measures in a recent study.
